Abstract

Reaction of mercaptoheterocyclic compounds with ethyl bromoacetate in the presence of base afforded thioacetate derivative of
mercaptoheterocyclic compounds. These on subsequent treatment with hydrazine hydrate yielded acylated hydrazine derivative of
mercaptoheterocyclic compounds. Reaction of these acylated hydrazine derivatives of mercaptoheterocyclic compounds with various aromatic
aldehydes afforded respective Schiff’s base derivatives.
